Warrior Wednesday - Moving Mountains

Today for my Warrior Wednesday post (which I have realized that I have been slacking a bit on)will be to warrior for many children. Andrea, director of Reece's Rainbow has posted a Moving Mountains challenge. This page, http://reecesrainbow.org/category/waitingchildren/movingmountains, lists all children with grants of over $2500. We all know that finances are the biggest mountain to climb up and over in adoption. This page shows the sizable grants that move this mountain for families, or at least make it appear more as a hill than mountain. Please visit this page and see the wonderful grants that these children have available to them. These grants are not based on need of the family. They are guaranteed grants to be applied towards your adoption once you receive your first travel date. Some of the children are:

Anastasia S. Date of Birth: July 2007 Gender: Female Eyes: Gray Hair: light brown Character: easily tired, calm Update late 2011: Anastasia is said to not be developing well; she does not stand or walk — she desperately needs a family, to help her develop and reach her full potential! $7872.15 is available towards the cost of my adoption!

Oksana recently lost her family.
Oksana M. Date of Birth: January 29, 2006 Gender: Female Eyes: Gray Hair: brown Nature: Calm Oksana is a beautiful carrot top with blue eyes! She is HEALTHY, with no heart condition. She does have hard astigmatism in both eyes, so she will need to wear corrective glasses. But she is active and happy, described as affectionate and playful. Won't you give Oksana a family of her own? FULL MEDICAL INFO AVAILABLE! $10388.90 is available towards the cost of my adoption!

Boy, born February 2007 Eyes: Brown Hair: brown Character: Calm, sedentary PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ALEXANDER! Alexander is a sweet boy with brown hair and eyes. He was born with Down syndrome and also struggles with epilepsy. He has strabismus as well. Alexander is described as affectionate and social. UPDATE Nov 2011: DS, mental deficiency, epileptic syndrome, generalized [systemic] idiopathic epilepsy, atrial septal defect, congenital stenosis of aortic valve, subluxation of a hip, strabismus. Alexander is almost 5 and has probably already been transferred. He needs a family! Please consider Alexander! This region is wonderful to adopt from, we have a fabulous agency partner and many families have successfully adopted here. There is great support for the adoption of children with DS in this region. SINGLE MOMS WELCOME! $11205.50 is available towards the cost of my adoption!

And there are so many more. Please share this posts with others so that these children's families are able to find them and bring them home. Many will be saved from ever seeing the inside of an institution.
